Alex Tagliani will join Theetge Motorsport for the upcoming NASCAR Canada season, driving the #80 entry on road courses. Tagliani will partner with Donald Theetge in a shared effort to bring the #80 car to the front of the field throughout the season. This collaboration extends beyond the racetrack, as both drivers recently celebrated a major announcement in Quebec City: the launch of TAG E-Karting & Amusement in Donald Theetge’s hometown.
Under the continued leadership of crew chief Don Thompson, Theetge Motorsport remains committed to competing at the highest level. Following a strong 2025 season — highlighted by consistent front-running performances, laps led, and multiple near victories despite challenging circumstances — the team enters the new season more determined than ever.
The team has demonstrated strong competitiveness across all track types, with Donald Theetge excelling on ovals and Tagliani delivering strong performances on road courses. Together, they aim to build on that momentum and contend for wins, leaving behind the misfortune of 2025.
“I’m really excited about the upcoming season—there’s a fresh start with new faces in the series, new tires, and a new partnership. It’s pretty special to split driving duties while also being partners off the track. We share the same passion for racing, and that’s what makes it so great to share the cockpit with Donald” says Alex Tagliani.
Donald Theetge adds: “We’re really looking forward to the 2026 season. Last year was super exciting — racing at Mosport and at GP3R, seeing Tag battle with the #96 and the #27 and finishing on the podium. We had some bad luck, which was unfortunate, but we’re excited to see what we can accomplish this year.”
The team will hit the track at the season opener at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on May 15, 16 and 17th.
