May 2, 2012 (Toronto, ON) – The Honda Indy Toronto announces today new sponsorship agreements with Mr. Lube, Canada’s largest quick lube brand, and Ortsbo, an INDYCAR Sponsor and leader in Real-Time Global Communications, as well as a renewed relationship with William Ashley, recognized as North America’s leading retailer of china, crystal, silver and giftware. The agreements allow for each brand to associate itself with a component of the event that either relates to their industry or meets their corporate objectives.
Mr. Lube gains naming rights for the Mr. Lube Indy Lights Paddock, Ortsbo becomes the presenter of the International Media Centre, while William Ashley will return as the Official Trophy Supplier for IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights races.
“Mr. Lube, Ortsbo and William Ashley hold solid reputations as leaders in their respective industries,” said Charlie Johnstone, Vice President and General Manager of the Honda Indy Toronto. “We are pleased to count each of them as a partner for this festival of racing. Their involvement and presence on-site will add to the overall fan experience at the 2012 Honda Indy Toronto.”
Mr. Lube’s involvement represents an exciting new retail initiative and with their history as a leader in quick, convenient oil changes, the company represents the perfect sponsor for the Firestone Indy Lights paddock, which continues to be a unique garage experience for fans and racing professionals alike.
As the official language services company for INDYCAR, Ortsbo’s real-time multilingual communications platforms and digital information services will be of great benefit in Canada’s most multicultural city. The addition of these applications will help the diverse fans of the IZOD IndyCar Series stay up-to-date throughout race weekend.
For the second consecutive year, William Ashley will provide trophies featuring custom-designed Waterford Crystal pieces for the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights races. New for 2012, fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite trophy design through online ballots. Once voting has been closed, the winning designs will be put into production and unveiled on June 13, 2012 at William Ashley’s flagship Bloor Street address.
“As we continue to engage tier one partners in our business, we continue to positively shape the long-term future of the event,” adds Johnstone. “We look forward to building on this momentum as we welcome other leading brands to the Honda Indy Toronto.”
