Honda Indy Toronto caps off another successful Free Friday

July 6, 2012 (Toronto) – The race track wasn’t the only thing that was hot at the Honda Indy Toronto’s Free Friday.

For the third straight year, attendees were given full access to the event courtesy of the Ontario Honda Dealers Association(OHDA). Featuring more interactive activities and vendors than ever before, enthusiasm soared along with the record-breaking temperatures. 2011 winner of the Honda Indy and Target Chip Ganassi driver Dario Franchitti garnered the fastest race time in the IZOD IndyCar Series practice sessions. The race showcased the fierce competition and sportsmanship of the competing drivers while also previewing the fast-paced action to come for the main event this Sunday.

For Firestone Indy Lights, Tristian Vautier scored the top of the time sheet during practice, while Sage Karam dominated for the Star Mazda Series. The day topped off with qualifying for Ferrari Challenge race #1, during which Damon Ockey grabbed pole position for Saturday's race.

In lieu of admission on Free Friday, attendees were encouraged to donate to Make-A-Wish with Honda Canada matching each donation dollar-for-dollar. With support from organizations like Honda Canada and the OHDA, Make-A-Wish grants over 400 wishes a year through eight regional chapters across the country.

Tickets for Saturday and Sunday are still available for purchase at www.hondaindytoronto.com/tickets.
